Portuguese Cultural Centres (by country)

Portuguese Cultural Centres are part of the Camões, I.P. international network and are established jointly with Portuguese diplomatic missions or consular posts abroad to provide cultural spaces whose main purpose is to promote the Portuguese language and culture around the world, with its characteristic interculturality and global cultural diversity. They contribute to Portugal’s image in a variety of ways and across a broad range of sectors on both a European and global level, adding to the vitality of the Portuguese economy and European culture as a whole, namely by encouraging the participation of artists, cultural professionals and civil society to increase the level of dynamism and exchange of cultural goods and services with other countries.

These cultural centres are units of Camões, I.P. and operate with administrative autonomy under the control of the head of the diplomatic mission or their equivalent and along with other international peripheral services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in their respective geographic location and area of activity.
