Paula Rego's first solo exhibition in Germany, Entre a Imaginação e a Memória, started on August 8th at the Gallery of Camões - Portuguese Cultural Centre in Berlin. The Portuguese President, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, was present an the innauguration, as part of his official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.
Paula Rego is one of the most influential and prestigious Portuguese artists, whose work extends to painting, drawing and engraving, with a curriculum of more than 200 exhibitions, collective and individual, around the world. 20 years after Paula Rego's last participation in an exhibition in Germany, a selection of 10 works belonging to the artist's collection will be presented, including the triptych "The Fisherman" (2005). The exhibition is open until th 7th of October 2019.
