Latest Developments

Santiago Norte Regional Hospital is located in the city of Santa Catarina in the interior of Santiago island, serving three municipalities (Tarrafal, Santa Catarina and São Miguel) and comprising approximately 95,000 people (20% of the entire country).

Like any other hospital, it has a daily routine of cleaning and disinfecting clothes. This task is essential in order to control the spread of germs inherent to this kind of place and, thus, minimise the risk of hospital infections.

This ongoing project aims to install an industrial washing machine to help resolve one of the hospital’s most important issues, which is the cleanliness of clothes and linen used at the hospital in order to minimise the risk of infection.

This project was 100% financed by Camões, I.P (€10,000) in 2013.
